Baringo residents have high hopes President William Ruto's government will help them solve problems such as water shortage and cattle theft.

They cheered Ruto's promise of a Sh50 billion Hustler Fund.

Led by Deputy Governor Charles Kipngok and other leaders, residents on Monday said God has answered their prayers. He gave them a passionate leader willing to support the less fortunate.

The leaders led jubilant residents of Kabarnet town in celebrating the apex court's decision on Monday to unanimously uphold Ruto's win on August 9.

They thronged the CBD.

Kipngok said the county faces serious problems. He cited a water shortage caused by the stalled Kirandich Phase II connectivity project.

Cattle rustling and banditry is a major problems in the southern part of the county.

Residents and leaders said they hope the new administration will work with the county to establish a public university and a stadium.

“We are happy we have gotten a hardworking leader as our fifth president. He will guarantee success to both our nation and our county where our people have been yearning for real development,” Kipngok said.

The deputy governor said the county administration will improve the livelihoods of residents through support programmes.

He said it looks forward to Ruto's promised Sh50 billion Hustler Fund to enable them to grow their economic enterprises.

Kabarnet MCA Ernest Kibet praised Supreme Court judges for upholding President-elect Ruto's win against Azimio leader Raila Odinga's challenge.

He said residents are relieved after so many days of uncertainty.

“It is now the time for each and every one of us to unite so both our county and national government can move forward,” Kibet said.

He expressed disappointment with Kenya Power because there was a blackout as the judgment was being read. Residents were frustrated they could not follow the proceedings.

Kibet supported MCAs Alex Kurui (Kapropita), Henry Kigen (Tenges) and Ayub Kibet (Ewalel Chapchap) who demanded a written apology from Kenya Power to the county.

They said they wanted to know what really happened since blackouts are common during big events in the county.

Ayub Kibet pledged to team up with other elected leaders to ensure they deliver their campaign promises.

Outgoing Bartabwa MCA Reuben Chepsongol said Ruto’s government will help end banditry and cattle rustling. He has promised residents of the region he would do so.
