Gachagua perfect, Ruto a chess master — Kajiado UDA leaders

Kajiado UDA governor aspirant Katoo ole Metito and MP Peris Tobiko have congratulated DP William Ruto for picking MP Rigathi Gachagua as his running mate.

Katoo on Monday said Ruto’s ticket is a perfect choice that will unite the country.

Tobiko told the Star the Ruto-Rigathi pair is “indeed” safe for Kenyans as the two are energetic and passionate about serving the country. 

“Our economy will be turned around, investor confidence shall be boosted and a harmonious political environment established for all to thrive in,” Tobiko said.

She went on, “We, the foot soldiers, will play our part in nation-building. Pongezi HE Dr William Samoei Ruto for your bold choice. You have sent our competitors scattering back to their drawing boards.”

She said DP Ruto has proved he is the chess master of politics.

Kajiado West MP George Sunkuyia said he did not expect anything less than the choice of Gachagua..

“This man Gachagua stands for unity. He is experienced in government issues and has the heart to help others. This is a perfect pair, and we are ready to hit the ground now,” Sunkuyia said.i.

UDA Senate aspirant Kanar Seki congratulated Ruto for “making the right choice of person”.

“This is the way to go and we are telling our competitors we are now ready to form the next government,” Seki said.

Seki, who fell out with Governor Joseph Lenku one year ago, is a political strategist in UDA and has promised to deliver the votes to Ruto and Katoo.

Kajiado North MP UDA aspirant Onesmas Ngogoyo said Ruto did as expected in picking Gachagua, saying the  Mathira MP understands Kenya more than any other person.

“Through Gachagua, we will lock out Mt Kenya from our competitors. Gachagua has the people and those people are going to vote for UDA,” Ngogoyo said.

Ngogoyo is Katoo’s point man in Kajiado North where the Kikuyu vote is important.

With more than 130,000 votes, the Kajiado North constituency has the highest number of voters in the region.
