A vocal Rift Valley MP has accused ODM leader Raila Odinga and Baringo Senator Gideon of scheming to derail Deputy President William Ruto's bid to win the Presidency in 2022.

Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi said the two were scheming to break up Jubilee so that the Deputy President does not succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta when his term ends.

Sudi, a close ally of the DP, has lately been outspoken against the truce between Ruto and Raila.

He wants the handshake between the President and the Opposition chief to end, saying it is causing more disunity rather than advancing peace.

The lawmaker spoke at Mugundoi in Uasin Gishu on Saturday.

“Uhuru should know that we will continue having problems in Jubilee as long as we have Raila in our house. Our problems started when he came in, for peace and unity to prevail, he must leave," Sudi said.

The MP said Kenya’s most political problems are caused by Raila because he wants to take power through the backdoor.

Sudi also said plans by some ODM leaders to impeach DP Ruto on grounds of corruption were part of Raila's schemes to break up Jubilee.

Orengo cannot be the one to tell us about impeaching the DP or about corruption because it is the people in the handshake deals that are more corrupt.

The MP accused Gideon of using the Standard and the Star newspapers of painting Ruto as corrupt.

Sudi said the two dailies have continuously been used to fuel divisions in Jubilee, especially between the President and the DP.

"Let me tell Gideon that he should not think he will use the Standard and the Star newspapers to make him President in 2022, "Sudi said.

The MP accused the newspapers of writing lies and negative stories about Ruto. “If there are people who should be prosecuted for causing problems in this country it’s the journalists. They are being used by people who want to destroy this country," he said.

Sudi said Ruto has won many battles in the past and he would be Kenya's next President if it is the will of God. Sudi alleged there is a plan to cause chaos in the Rift Valley between the Kikuyus and Kalenjins because of politics.

“We will not accept that because we united with the Kikuyus after frequent fights for many years.  Differences between the two tribes are the most dangerous for this country because we can control the others when it comes to war," Sudi said.
