ODM treasurer Timothy Bosire will bank on his track record in his bid to become Nyamira governor.

He is seeking to replace incumbent Governor Amos Nyaribo.

The former Kitutu Masaba MP said he has prudently managed ODM funds and NG-CDF.

“I served you for five years and served in the public accounts committee in Parliament. I fairly distributed funds. I will do the same when I become governor,” Bosire said.

“My development record speaks for me. I improved infrastructural facilities and distributed bursaries fairly. I will selflessly serve you if elected.”

He urged former MPs Walter Nyambati and Mwancha Okioma, eyeing the seat, to drop out of the race because they don’t have a track record.

“They are my friends and represented Kitutu Masaba but did not leave any track record,” Bosire said.

The ODM treasurer said the county is still lagging in development despite receiving over 50 billion in the last nine years.

He promised to address unemployment, improve healthcare, establish cottage industries and value addition, and also arrest those stealing public funds.

Bosire asked his rivals to do issue-based campaigns devoid of mudslinging.

Borabu parliamentary aspirant Nyandoro Kambi backed Bosire’s governor bid saying he is the only leader who can transform Nyamira.

“Bosire is honest and hardworking. When he was an MP he prudently managed public funds. I’m sure he will do the same if elected as a governor", Kambi said.

“Nyamira needs a paradigm shift and Bosire is the right person who will give us a new direction.”

Woman representative aspirants Monica Mwamba and Nancy Onsongo also supported Bosire’s bid.

Nyamira assembly majority leader Laban Masira, MCAs Carol Mogere, George Morara, Charles Maroko, and Benson Sironga also campaigned for Bosire.

They traversed several townships in the Kitutu Masaba constituency on Wednesday and Thursday.

Bosire who is eyeing the ODM ticket will battle it out with UDA’s Walter Nyambati, UPA’s Amos Nyaribo, Jubilee’s Mwancha Okioma, Reuben Marwanga of Kanu, and Wiper’s Ben Momanyi.

Momanyi is the current Borabu MP.
