The Garissa government and Kenya Literature Bureau have signed an agreement for supply learning materials to ECDE's and TVET's.
Garissa county secretary Abdi Ali welcomed the partnership saying it will go a long way in improving learning at the institutions.
Ali spoke after receiving the partnership business model from KLB sales and marketing representative, Ali Bille on Sunday.
The county secretary said a strong foundation is important for the young ones at the Early Childhood Development and Education level.
“I believe with this partnership in place, our pupils can look forward to a bright future. They will have all that they require in their day to day learning.
"With quality learning materials, we expect to achieve good results and qualified students who can fit into the emerging market,” he said.
Ali urged the institutions that will receive the materials to make good use of them.
“The Garissa administration under the leadership of Governor Ali Korane remains committed to addressing the plight of teachers, stabilising early learning and setting a strong base for our children's education,” he said.
The county secretary urged the youth to join tertiary institutions adding that the county needs personnel with such skills.
“As a county, we have pumped in substantial amounts of funds to improve on infrastructure, as well equip these institutions,” he said.
Bille on his part said the partnership comes with other benefits like capacity building trainings on the Competency-Based Curriculum.
The sales representative said the partnership also comes with institution-to-institution purchase of text books and other learning materials for both ECDE and TVET centers.
