Kitui farmers have been urged to take advantage of the Kitui Agricultural Show and Trade Fair to learn best practices on how to boost food production.

Agriculture Executive Stephen Kimwele the show is not focused on profits but lessons on agricultural best practices.

“Our Agricultural show is not for profit making. It is for Kitui people and farmers to come and learn new climate-smart technologies to enhance food production and wealth creation,” he said.

The trade fair will be held for three days from July 25 to July 27.

“Kitui is an arid and semi arid area; rains are not reliable and are very erratic. There is need for farmers to learn best climate-smart agriculture technologies,” Kimwele said.

He urged traders, innovators and entrepreneurs to participate in the show and showcase their products and services.

“They should come, connect and create business linkages. This will be an opportunity to attract new clients,” Kimwele said.

The trade fair will also give farmers the opportunity to showcase their harvest and farm produce.

Traditional foods and wares will also be presented.
