Kilifi leaders have been urged to work together for development at the grassroots.

Malindi MP Amina Mnyazi and three MCAs said it is time for leaders to focus on developing their county instead of dwelling on conflicts.

They spoke during International Women's Day celebrations in Malindi.

The MP said the country has seven women governors and 23 women MPs.

Mnyazi said she was happy to be chosen among the members of the ad hoc committee that delivered the Nadco report to Azimio leader Raila Odinga and President William Ruto at State House.

The first-term MP said in 2027 she will change her political strategy and not fight fellow women.

Malindi Town MCA Rashid Odhiambo said Kilifi got a Cabinet Secretary, Aisha Jumwa.

“There is no reason for Kilifi to lack development or complain that there is no development. Kilifi is among counties that receive more funds for devolution,” he said.

Odhiambo appealed to leaders to be united like they were during campaigns instead of unnecessary conflicts and insults.
