Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has called out Deputy President William Ruto to stop using his name to seek votes.

Kalonzo said Ruto is not Wiper’s spokesperson and warned him against hoodwinking Kenyans by using his name to gain popularity.

He was speaking in Changamwe Sunday evening as he continued with his tour of the Coast region.

"You cannot continue to deceive people. Stop using me as political bait to popularise your bid,” Kalonzo said.

At the same time, Kalonzo told the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission that they cannot stop former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko’s bid for Mombasa top seat.

He said Wiper will not relent in seeking justice for Sonko.

"You (IEBC) cannot stop a Sonko revolution, if you value democracy then prove it to Kenyans. You cannot deny Mombasa people their democratic right to vote for a governor they want," the Wiper boss said.

The Wiper boss also called out the Supreme Court, saying it cannot be a subject of IEBC.

"That's why we have gone to the East African Court of Justice in Arusha. If we have to postpone the election in Mombasa then so be it," Kalonzo said.

The Wiper boss further drummed up support for Azimio presidential candidate Raila Odinga, and called on Mombasa people to vote for Wiper candidates seeking different elective positions in the region.

Sonko said he will exhaust all legal avenues to ensure he gets justice.

He said all this was aimed at derailing his campaign, but promised that he will overcome everything and he will be on the ballot.

"The constitution stipulates that I must exhaust all my appeals and reviews. That is why we have taken this matter to Arusha. This is a plan to destroy me from campaigning, but trust me I will be on the ballot," Sonko said.

He took issue with the current Governor Hassan Joho-led administration, accusing it of failing to offer Mombasa residents basic services.

"I am here to deliver Mombasa from the shackles of underdevelopment," Sonko said.

The former Nairobi governor called out the ODM leader for preaching six-piece voting, warning against imposing leaders on the Mombasa people.

"I want to tell baba (Raila) that we respect him and will vote for him to be president. But he should let the people decide who to vote for at the grassroots,” he said.
