The ODM Party will use all means possible to make sure Deputy President William Ruto is removed from the position, secretary general Edwin Sifuna has said.

Sifuna said any option that can separate Ruto from public resources including impeachment, forcing the DP to resign or prosecution by Kenyans must be applied.

Sifuna was speaking on Friday at Palakumi Secondary School, Kilifi county during a funds drive in aid of the school.

He said runaway corruption has hit alarming levels in the Jubilee regime, hindering efficient service delivery.

Mathare MP Anthony Oluoch described Ruto as a kleptomaniac whose appetite for public resources has soured beyond irredeemable levels.

He told Ruto to stop claiming that the war on corruption is targeting a certain community.

If a snake invades our meeting here, do you think we shall have time to consult on how to kill it? Of course, we shall use whatever we have in our possession to kill it.

“There are people with a mental condition of an irresistible urge to steal. That means he cannot sleep without stealing,” Oluoch said.

He said currently there are four cabinet secretaries under investigation but they have not roped in their communities.

“Mwangi Kiunjuri and Eugene Wamalwa are being investigated, have you seen Kikuyus or Luhyas claiming their community is targeted?" Oluoch added.

Saboti MP Caleb Amisi said the success of the war on corruption rests on the Jubilee government, not ODM.

“They should not drag our party into their problems because we know there is turmoil in that party. In fact, they are in good position to remove the DP from the party since he has failed them,” Amisi said.

Kilifi South MP Ken Chonga said the rampant corruption was being perpetuated by the bigwigs in Jubilee so they can get money to bribe voters in the 2022 General Election.

“The Sh21 billion that was lost in the dam scandal will find its way into your pockets in the 2022 General Elections. The same people milking this country dry at the moment will come pretending to be an angle and award you with cash as they campaign," Chonga said.

Kilifi Senator Stewart Madzayo said corruption in the government at the moment must be tackled with all means possible.
