Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru has urged her county residents to evaluate gubernatorial candidates in the upcoming August elections on service delivery before voting for them.

"Ask them what they have done for the residents, and what they want to do that has not been done."

She noted that she has fulfilled the development agenda she promised residents while campaigning for the governor's seat.

Waiguru said her administration has initiated projects that have transformed residents' lives.

She said that she upgraded the county's major hospitals to improve the health sector.

"The county has established Kerugoya modern medical complex which will increase bed capacity from 200 to 500Kianyaga and Kimbimbi hospitals are underway after the county assembly passed budget allocations for the projects," Waiguru said.

The Governor added that her leadership has created alternative sources of income for farmers, thus ending overreliance on tea and coffee cash crops.

"Wezesha Kirinyaga programme has uplifted the lives of farmers through poultry and pig farming. Avocadoes projects have also been of benefit," she said.

Commenting on infrastructural development, Waiguru said her county bought adequate roads equipment to upgrade feeder roads through her internal upgrade program dubbed 'Nyoosha barabara mashinani'.

Waiguru also expressed confidence that she will be re-elected based on her development record.

She said the county has achieved many more national government projects in her time than in the past regime.

She cited Thiba dam project, Ngurubani tarmac, as some of the national projects implemented in her era.

The Governor said her campaign pledge to link the county to National Government has yielded fruits to the benefit of residents.
