Ford Kenya officials have dismissed claims the party has given direct tickets to some aspirants.

Deputy party leader Millicent Abudho said the party has no preferred candidate for any elective position.

She said all aspirants will undergo nominations to get winners whom the party will support.

Abudho spoke at Bungoma Ford Kenya party headquarters when the elections board met aspirants on Tuesday.

She said the outfit decided to meet with aspirants from the entire county to ensure they are conversant with the requirements of the nominations.

“Today is a very vital day for Ford Kenya aspirants because we have had a fruitful meeting with them here at the party headquarters,” Abudho said.

She said all is well under the leadership of Senator Moses Wetang’ula and the party will field candidates in all positions apart from the presidency.

Abudho said Bungoma is a Ford Kenya stronghold and urged Western residents to rally behind Kenya Kwanza alliance.

Bungoma Ford Kenya chairperson Catherine Wambilianga assured aspirants that the party will conduct free and fair nominations.

She said no one has been awarded a direct ticket and they will all be required to seek votes for nominations.

Youth leader Wafula Wakoli told the Star he will vie for the Kanduyi parliamentary seat on the party ticket. He asked other aspirants to stick to the law.
