Dennis Mwanja has been appointed Kenya Lionesses head coach.

Mwanja takes over from Felix Oloo, who has relocated to Canada and where he is set to form part of the coaching staff at Ottawa’s Barrhaven Scottish RFC.

Mwanja's first assignment will be the Africa Sevens Championships in  Jemmie, Tunisia this weekend.

He is quietly confident his charges will deliver as they seek qualification to the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England in July and the World Cup in Johannesburg, South Africa in September.

"The girls are in good shape, having trained with my predecessor for the last two to three months," said Mwanja.
