Powerhouses South Africa headline Pool 'A' alongside Zimbabwe and Senegal while Madagascar, Tunisia and Ghana will compete in Pool 'C'

The winner of the qualifier will grace both events while the runners-up will get a ticket to the Commonwealth Games.

The Commonwealth Games in Birmingham will be held in July while the World Cup Sevens is slated for South Africa in September.

Oloo, the Nakuru RFC coach, expects a competitive qualification process.

“It's going to be exciting with tickets to the Club Games and World Cup to fight for. It will be tough but the girls are more than ready for the challenge. We have a couple of days left to finalise our preparations,” added Oloo.

The tactician observed that the Sevens game is unpredictable and his charges can't afford to underestimate anyone.

"There are no easy games and we must treat each game as a final," said Oloo, adding that experience gained at last year's Tokyo Olympics will be vital as they negotiate the qualifiers.

Elsewhere, Shujaa dropped to the Challenge Trophy of the Vancouver Sevens after losing two of their matches on Saturday.

Innocent Simiyu 's charges won their opening match by beating USA 19-17 but lost 38-7 to Fiji and 19-12 to England. Kenya were due to face Ireland in the 9-12 position match last night.

Kenya's try scorers in the match against USA were Kevin Wekesa, a brace, and Bush Mwale.

In the match against Fiji, Alvin Marube scored the consolation try while Mwale and Wekesa scored a try each against England.
