Brighton midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud has joined Stuttgart on loan for the rest of the season.

The Germany international, 28, has started only six Premier League games since signing a four-year deal in July after his contract with Borussia Dortmund expired.

"This is a good move for Mahmoud," said Brighton technical director David Weir. "It will allow him to play regularly for a side doing very well towards the top of the Bundesliga."

Stuttgart are third in the German top flight, 12 points behind leaders Bayer Leverkusen. Brighton are eighth in the Premier League.

Dahoud last played for Brighton in a 1-1 draw against Burnley on 9 December.

Brighton striker Deniz Undav is also on loan at Stuttgart and has scored 13 goals in all competitions this season.
