Gaspo Women have lined up two international friendly matches as part of their preparations for the 2023-24 Kenya Women's Premier League season.

The Gatundu-based side take on Uganda'a Kawempe FC on July 22 in Uganda.

Gaspo, who were runners-up in the recently concluded season, will then head to Tanzania to clash with Simba Queens on August 8.

Prior to the aforementioned assignments, the Kiambu county team will tour Mt. Kenya for a high altitude football match on between June 29-30.

Gaspo chairman, Edward Githua said: "We have drawn up our program that we hope to consolidate our fan base during preseason."

"The team needs to work on their mental strength especially on the high altitude. We will be on a scouting mission as well. We want to become the first team in history to play football at a high altitude," Githua pointed out.

Gaspo fell short in the last hurdle last season. After going toe-to-toe with eventual winners Vihiga Queens for the WPL title,  two consecutive draws in the last three matches of the season denied the team their first title.

"Both Kawempe and Simba finished second in their respective leagues. They will give us real test and by the time the league kicks off, the players will be ready," Githua observed.
