FKF Premier League side AFC Leopards are working on a partnership deal with Kenya’s biggest shoe manufacturer Bata Limited, a deal that will be officially launched in June.
Ingwe confirmed the good news in a social media post on Friday evening with pictures of gaffer Patrick Aussems, team officials and players on a visit to the company’s factory.
“We visited Kenya’s biggest shoe manufacturer Bata at their Limuru factory earlier today as we work towards a partnership that will officially be launched in June,” the club statement read.
The announcement will see the 12-time Kenya Premier League champions secure their second sponsorship deal building up into next season.
Leopards in July 2022 signed a sponsorship deal with a Kenyan gaming firm Betika worth Ksh.195 million as their shirt sponsors.
The club also confirmed that Bata Limited would launch a Northstar shoes brand customized specifically for AFC Leopards.
“Northstar shoes customized specifically for AFC Leopards were launched,” the club statement read.
The deal comes just two days away from the club's arguably biggest game of the season against arch-rivals Gor Mahia in the much-hyped Mashemeji derby at the Nyayo National Stadium on Sunday.
The match will kick off at 3 pm local time.
