It was all song and dance in Tusker FC's dressing room after the Ruaraka-based brewers fended off an abrasive challenge to pip AFC Leopards 1-0 at Nyayo Stadium on Wednesday.

Stewart Omondi emerged from the bench to blast in a last-gasp winner for the defending Kenyan Premier League champions in the second minute of added time after neatly picking up a deftly-floated cross from Lawrence Luvanda.

Head coach Robert Matano lauded his charges for fighting tooth and nail to secure maximum points that enabled them to reduce the gap between them and leaders Gor Mahia to four points.

"It was a brilliant display of character. Collecting away points against an opponent of AFC Leopards' calibre is not a mean feat and I laud the boys for delivering victory this afternoon," Matano said.

"We now have high hopes of defending our title but I urge the boys not to lose focus since we expect the competition to intensify in the remaining phases."

Patrick Aussems, AFC Leopards coach, blamed their loss on a concentration lapse in the final minute.

"We could have easily secured a point from this match if we had fought to the final whistle but a disjointed defence proved costly at the eleventh hour," Aussems remarked.

Kakamega Homeboyz collected a comfortable 2-0 win over Posta Rangers at Kasarani Annex.

New signing Felicien Okanda got his first competitive goal in Homeboyz colours with a 17th-minute header, and just before the interval, another new signing, Enock Agwanda, converted from the spot for a 2-0 halftime lead.

Bidco United crashed 2-1 to Kariobangi Sharks at the Police Pavillion with Paul Odhiambo coming off the bench to grab a last-gasp winner for William Muluya's youngsters.

Moses Shikanda had fired Sharks into the lead with a splendid effort in the 32nd minute, his eighth of the season.

Record champions Gor Mahia squandered an opportunity to keep their six-point advantage at the top after playing out to a barren draw against a resilient Sofapaka side at Moi Stadium, Kasarani.

At Mbaraki Sports Club in Mombasa, hosts Bandari walloped Ulinzi Stars 5-0.

KCB edged Nairobi City Stars 1-0 at Kasarani Annex to go thirdwhile Mathare United rallied from behind to stun Talanta 3-2. Wazito and Kenya Police played out to a barren draw at Muhoroni Stadium in Kisumu.
