Tusker head coach Robert Matano has urged his team to work assiduously and intensify their relentless pursuit of a back-to-back championship.
His remarks come precisely a day after the gap between them and leaders Gor Mahia shrank to just two points at the apex of the Kenyan Premier League table.
Gor agonizingly blew a 2-0 advantage to share spoils with Posta Rangers at Nyayo Stadium on Sunday, the outcome severely undermining their aspirations for a 20th top-flight title.
Even as K'Ogalo's title charge took a costly hit, Tusker's chances were significantly increased the day before when they handled a rough challenge from Kenya Police to claim a 1-0 win at the same venue.
Gor now sit atop the top-flight table with 53 points, only two more than the brewers, as a result of the weekend results and Matano is prodding his charges to cash in on their rival's plight.
"I'm extremely happy with how we've been performing in our fixtures despite starting the season on a low note. We only need to maintain the momentum that has propelled us to four consecutive wins in our most recent matches," Matano said.
Matano now reckons they can easily send the title contention to the wire and cause a major upset if they manage to execute their blueprint effectively in the remaining 11 encounters.
The Ruaraka-based brewers could lay claim to their 12th overall championship since their debut in 1970 if they maneuver past K'Ogalo in the close race.
"I'm happy with my players. They are growing stronger and stronger. We still have 11 matches to go. I pray that we continue with the same consistency and get the points necessary to secure us the title," Matano said.
The seasoned gaffer has warned his charges to be wary of the threat posed by competition minnows Wazito, saying it would be suicidal to underrate them.
"Our next match is against Wazito, a very good team. I've seen them play before and they are worthy opponents who are physical and determined."
"They also have some very experienced players who have been in the game for a long time now but all in all, we have planned well for them and we are ready to collect maximum points on Wednesday."
Meanwhile, Tusker's fleet-footed forward Shaphan Oyugi has said they will leave no stone unturned in their quest for the title.
Oyugi was the toast for the brewers in their last crunch tie against Police where he netted the all-important goal that fired his side to a crucial victory.
"We will not let you down this time around. We shall push above and beyond to win the title and secure a slot in the continental competition."
