14 Kenyans have registered for the first-ever Fifa football agent exams to be held in the country on Wednesday, April 19, according to the Football Kenya Federation.

The Kenyan contingent is part of 6,586 candidates from 138 Fifa member associations.

Fifa Football Agent Regulations (FFAR) came into force in January 2023.

The FFAR replaced Fifa’s regulations on working with Intermediaries and will provide the regulatory framework governing football agents and the performance of football agent services worldwide.

They are part of a licensing system that FIFA has rolled out to raise the professional and ethical standards for football agents.

After successfully passing the exam, they will be licensed by FIFA, which will allow them to conduct football agency services on a worldwide basis.

Following a transition period, the use of licensed football agents will become compulsory from October 1.
