Newly appointed Kenya Police head coach Sammy 'Pamzo' Omollo reckons his wealth of experience will play a major role in pumping up the much-needed zest into the struggling side.

Omollo, who took the reins on Wednesday following the departure of veteran tactician John Bobby Ogolla, will be assisted by former Harambee Stars skipper Musa Otieno.

“Coaching is all about knowledge and I believe I have accumulated sufficient experience during my years with various top flight sides including Posta Rangers and Gor Mahia. I intend to use this to the advantage of the club,” said Omollo.

“We have some brilliant players in the squad who have the capacity to turn around the fortunes of the club. They only need to be guided in the proper way,” Omollo said.

The tactician showered his predecessor with rosy words.

“Ogolla is an experienced coach who did a good job in the short time he was in charge of the club. I hope to build on the foundation he established,” said Omollo.

Ogolla was sent packing after presiding over 21 league matches. He guided the club to a historic top-flight promotion following an inspiring win over Vihiga United in the hotly contested playoffs.

Australian Lukas Tott who served as the team’s technical director has also been shown the door.

The changes come in the wake of a miserable run that has left the Kenyan Premier League debutants sitting in a precarious 13th position on the log.

This, was after the management, plunged vast resources into the transfer market in search of quality and experience.

Former Simba SC midfielder Francis Kahata headlines the star-studded list of new acquisitions who also include Clifton Miheso, Musa Mohammed, Elvis Rupia, Harun Shakava and Eric Juma.

Of all the fresh recruits, only Miheso has made the desired impact thus far. The fleet-footed offensive midfielder who was snapped from record champions Gor Mahia tops the scorers' chart with 10 goals.

The law enforcers have toiled in seven matches without a win. They squeezed out a solitary point in their last league outing after a hard-fought one-all draw against KCB in what marked Ogolla's last day in the dugout.

They currently sit in a precarious 13th position on the log with 24 points from 21 matches.
