Omanyala: Nobody will defeat me this year

Africa's fastest man Omanyala won the South African Grand Prix in a time of 10.05 seconds.

Commonwealth Games 100m champion Ferdinard Omanyala has stated that he's in peak condition and nobody will defeat him this year ahead of the Kip Keino classic set for May 13 at Moi International Stadium, Kasarani.

The sprint sensation said the Atlanta, Botswana and South Africa games were part of his preparations for the Kip Keino Classic and the World Championships.

The planatory assignment is set for August 19-27 in Budapest, Hungary.

Omanyala who will have Steven Odhiambo for company, faces stiff competition from Mateo Pablo (France), Emmanuel Eseme (Camroon), Brandon Carnes (USA), Kenneth Bednarek (USA), Marvin Bracy-Williams (USA)and Canada's  Jerome Blake

“South Africa was like a training camp, to get race sharpness ahead of a busy schedule,” Omanyala said.

“I am in peak condition and nobody is going to defeat me this year," Omanyala bullishly said.

“I know what I have done. I have put in the work and I know my body and how I feel even when I  am walking. It is just about maintaining the goal and making sure the goal remains the same; breaking the records and  winning the world championships,” added Omanyala.

He challenged supporters to fill the Kasarani stadium as extra motivation of achieving his target.

“The love I received in Botswana was the best ever feeling. I hope to get the same tomorrow on home soil and make sure that we break the record,” the sprinter added.
