Ruiru Sports Club will host the 2024 Captain’s Prize golf tournament this week, coming just after the club celebrated its 100th year.

The tournament will serve as the climax of the outgoing RSC captain, Jessy Ndegwa's illustrious tenure as the curtains close on his second term in office.

Ndegwa, formerly the club’s vice-captain for two years, has led with notable accomplishments, including course enhancements, boosting sponsorship, and fostering junior golf development.

With a host of sponsors, including Family Bank, Kenya Pipeline Company, CIC Insurance,  Madison Insurance and AM Communications Ltd among others, the competition in this year’s edition is billed to be mouth-watering with over 700 golfers drawn from across the country expected to participate.

During the week-long extravaganza, organisers have lined up a field of both amateurs and professional golfers to sweat it out on the greens for the ultimate prize and bragging rights.

“I welcome every one of you to this year’s edition. It is an exciting time that we are having this tournament, and it is my hope and belief that it will prove the while. It is not just a tournament but an extraordinary golfing experience. Come, golf and build new connections,” said captain Ndegwa
