KCB secured an important 3-1 win over DCI in the ongoing 4th leg of the Kenya Volleyball Federation Women's League at the Nyayo Stadium Indoor arena on Saturday afternoon.

The team registered a 25-21 victory in the first set before losing the second set 21-25 to the detectives who proved too strong.

The bankers recovered from the setback to win the last two sets 25-19 and 25-18 to record their second win of the three-day competition.

Head coach Japheth Munala recalled captain Edith Wisa to the starting line-up.

The towering middle-blocker started on the bench in Friday's 3-0 win over Nairobi Prisons in a one-sided affair.

Wisa, who guided the Ruaraka-based side to glory at the Africa Club Volleyball Championships last year in Tunisia, was a cut above the rest.

“We started very well and won the first set. Complacency crept in and we made a lot of mistakes that saw the team lose the second set, " Wisa observed.

"The win is a morale booster ahead of a tougher fixture on Sunday," she added.

KCB faces defending league champions Kenya Pipeline on Sunday in what will be an energy-sapping clash.

Esther Mutinda played a starring role in the match after being preferred to Emmaculate Nekesa in the setting department.

This was KCB's first competitive outing since finishing fifth in this year's  Club Championship in Tunisia as the bankers relinquished their title to Egypt's Zamalek.
