Some of the dropped players, according to club manager Joshua Sakwa, have joined Kayole Starlets 'B', who ply their trade in the women's Division One League.

In Summary

• Sakwa said the decision to drop the players was informed by their current financial crisis, which has seen the club struggle to honour matches to an extent of dishing out two walkovers.

• Meanwhile, free agent Lorna Nyorinda has returned to Thika United Women, who have also signed Linda Ajwang and Tanzanian Anastacia Shau.

As the Football Kenya Federation Women's Premier League transfer comes to an end, bottom side Kayole Starlets have released 18 players amid a financial crisis.

Some of the dropped players, according to club manager Joshua Sakwa, have joined Kayole Starlets 'B', who ply their trade in the women's Division One League.

Those who joined Kayole Starlets 'B' include Careen Akinyi, Berly Akoth, Christine Asiko, Susan Awour, Tina Opany, Tina Turner, Euniter Nyamboke, Ann Nduku and Tabitha Mwanzaia.

Eunice Gor and Lucy Njeri joined Division One sides Soweto Starlets and Kahawa Queens respectively while Joan Agutu, Faith Awour, Immaculate Chelimo, Sharon Miloya, Josphine Nana, Veronicah Ndunge and Queenter Okwayo are free agents.

Sakwa said the decision to drop the players was informed by their current financial crisis, which has seen the club struggle to honour matches to an extent of dishing out two walkovers.

“We were forced to release some of our key players due to the current cash crunch. We were not able to pay them nor facilitate them on transport and other key requirements,” Sakwa said.

However, the club have signed six players including Sabeti Impendi, Lydia Khasakhala, Bilha Osongo from Mathare United Women, Ruth Wanja from Limuru Starlets as well as free agents Lorna Oduori and Edna Sheba.

Meanwhile, free agent Lorna Nyorinda has returned to Thika United Women, who have also signed Linda Ajwang and Tanzanian Anastacia Shau.

Nakuru City Queens' coach James Angila made no significant signings, opting to promote players from their academy side including Mary Atieno and Jael Salano alongside Floice Khanali— who has been playing for Division One side Leeds United.

Queens have released Elizabeth Kirika (Trans Nzoia Falcons), Carolyne Khaemba (Bungoma Queens) and Ruth Chebngei (Vicars’ Queens).

Trans Nzoia Falcons head coach Justin Okiring conducted an overhaul of his squad, releasing 15 players and signing 14.

“We have released 15 players and we have also signed 14 players so far. I am certain the new signing will help get us back on track,” he said.

The new signings include Judy Jepkwemoi, Callen Bosibori, Mary Akinyi, Sether Chepkoek, Leonida Nakhumicha, Anna Naliaka, Peris Namukoli, Immaculate Nasimiyu, Joyce Nelima, Miriam Nelima, Jael Weonga, Felistus Atieno, Elizabeth Kirika and Eldeh Achayo.

Ulinzi Starlets captured Judith Osimbo, Adhiambo Facila and Lavenda Akinyi and released Kasiala Probidel and Belinda Akinyi.

Kisumu Starlets head Coach Juma Saidi said he has decided to stick with his squad while Gaspo, Kangemi Ladies, Zetech, Wadadia, Bunyore Starlets and Vihiga Queens are yet to make official transfer communications.
