Kayole coach Joshua Sakwa has clarified that he has not been sacked over poor performance in the Kenya Women's Premier League but opted to move into the management of the club.

Sakwa said he can not be fired considering he is the founder of the Kayole Starlets FC.

“I am the founder of the club and therefore, I can't fire myself. What I have done is relinquish the coaching role to focus on the management of the club,” Sakwa said.

“I want to fix a few things on the management of the club and start planning on how the club can get funding going forward,” he added.

He said the club is currently struggling and the poor results on the table are due to a lack of financial support.

He said it is unfortunate that most KWPL teams’ survive on the goodwill of the fans.

The outgoing tactician said he will be handing over to the new coach to concentrate on the technical aspect of the club as he tries to rescue Kayole financially.
