Sports Dispute Tribunal (SDT) chairman John Ohaga has reconstituted the swimming Interim Management Committee.

Ohaga has brought on board Elijah Kimani as head of strategy and innovation thinking and Nairobi County caucus chairman Kenneth Karani as joint head of secretariat alongside Conrad Thorpe.

Other members of the committee include Jennifer Maina who is the head of IMC, Emily Njeru (head of governance),  Thomas Muli  (treasurer), and Larisa Mansoon Hart (head of national database).

In a press release, Ohaga said the constituted team will work on four areas which will include governance and policy, finance, technical policy, and stakeholders management.

On governance and policy, the team shall be responsible for the development of the strategic goals and direction of the Kenya Swimming Federation.

They will also monitor the performance and compliance of various laws and regulations, the Olympic Charter, and requirements of world governing body FINA and ensure IMC acts in the best interest of all swimmers.

Ohaga said they will continue acting within the confines of a court order as they seek to put in place the structures required for the delivery of free and fair elections.

Other responsibilities include the establishment of a budget and forecast for the federation. Other areas of interest will include the establishment of the national calendar and delivery of the national competitions database.

Stakeholders have, however, rubbished the newly reconstituted team observing that some of the members in the team are the ones who have gone to court to block the elections and enactment of a new constitution

A source who did not want to be named said: “IMC team is the one that has been fighting change and elections. What are they going to do differently that they have not done in the last five years," he added
