DANCEHALL singer Redsan has told-off his critics who are claiming his music has regressed..

The music star says he is more worried about competition from other “big” African artistes like Patoranking, P-Square, Davido and D'banj than people calling him a “no-change” artiste on YouTube.

Redsan was responding to comments directed to him after his latest release titled Shoulder Back. A section of music critics felt that the song was just reminiscent of the singer's formative years.

“There is a problem with Kenyan music fans. But there is one thing I want to tell all those people who are saying that Redsan has refused to change. Let them create another Redsan in Kenya and show him to me. I am competing with the Patorankings, the D'banjs, the P-Squares and the Davidos out there. I can never focus on small issues on YouTube,” he told Word Is.

"Shoulder Back was number one on MTV Base and Trace TV Dancehall category, and for somebody to start saying that they don't like it, that's real hate. A critic can be anybody. They can be your haters, someone who doesn't love music or just for attention. All we have to do as Kenyans is to behave like Tanzanians or Nigerians. Let's support our artistes.”

Redsan says his focus is on his upcoming projects among them his next album, Baddest, set to be released in August. He is working under Sony Music Global, Sony Music Africa and Rockstar 4000.
