Richie Rich, Ukoo Flani’s last born who joined the hip-hop outfit in 2006 from the US says he’s set to trace his African roots through Kaya hip-hop genre.

The musician whose real name is Richard Mwawasi says Kaya hip-hop is all about conscious or intellectual rap but gets its inspiration from the Coast Province tribes’ use of drums and poetry.

Already Ukoo Flani has released an album Kaya Hip Hop which brought together several artistes in the outfit which included Richie Rich.

Richie Rich told Word Is while in the US he worked in promoting and marketing department of PakPros and Funk Daddy Records. “During this time I was a backup rapper for artiste Livio where we curtain raised for Snoop Lion and Loyd Banks when they performed in Seattle,” he said.

Richie Rich has already released two singles Nice and Hii ni Hip Hop ahead of album launch which talks about his life and journey in hip-hop from both Kenya and the US. The new album will have 17 songs.
