Meta says Instagram working properly after bug fix

After Monday’s worldwide outage and suspending some accounts, Meta’s Instagram has said that the issue has now been resolved and the app should be working well.

"We've resolved this bug that was causing people in different parts of the world to have issues accessing their accounts and caused a temporary change for some in the number of followers,” they said in a tweet.

Other people reported the loss of followers while for others, the app was working as normal.

According to Daily Mail, the most followed person on Instagram appeared to have lost 3 million followers during the outage.

Down Detector, an app that tracks applications and website performance, there were over 7,500 reports on the outage from 10 am but the numbers dropped to nearly 500 by 7 pm.

Other people reportedly got the news that their account was suspended.

The users who were affected got a message from Instagram saying: "We suspended your account on October 31, 2022."

"There are 30 days remaining to disagree with this decision. Your account doesn't follow our Community Guidelines."

Those who clicked to appeal against their suspension were then presented with a mysterious black screen.
