Michael Soi, a renown Kenyan artist launched his latest work 'The Women in My Life' on Wednesday night at The Circle Art Gallery in Lavington, Nairobi. His controversial artistry has

often

been misconstrued as glorifying immorality and demeaning women.

The series is in response to this criticism and celebrates the important women who have played an integral part in shaping the human being that he is today. "They have all had a very positive role-socially and even spiritually." He said.

Soi made these masterpieces in a record three weeks.

Guests included Spain deputy ambassador Juan Manglano, Kikoromeo founder Ann McCreath and her daughter Iona.

His

colourful tote bags bearing faces of the beautiful women who have featured in his artwork became popular after Oscar award winner Lupita Ny’ong’o bought one.
