The International Kite Festival is known as Uttarayan. It is marked during the Indian spring festival of Makar Sankranti, near the middle of January, where millions of people fly kites all over northern India. Its a tradition that has been picked up and is celebrated the world over. In Nairobi, it was organised by the Patel Brotherhood of Nairobi, at the Premier Club on Sunday.

The fair had several food and game stalls and general accessories stalls. However, the main attraction was the kite flying with hundreds celebrating happiness.
