The Jua Kali exhibit was unveiled on Thursday evening at the Kuona Trust centre in Hurlingham.

The exhibit showcases the collaboration of work from photographer Tamir Karmali, found object artist Dennis Mwarguri and glass master Tonney Mugo.

The work was inspired by the informal sector and built from the opportunistic personality and perseverance of the Jua Kali worker who often use recycled or found objects to develop their creations.

"This exhibition was born from spending a year at Kuona Trust, inspired by the things I see around me and it was my reply to the Jua Kali work. How do I incorporate my medium and how do I incorporate their medium to generate an interesting philosophy and concept behind this." Tahir said about the photographs.

The exhibit runs until July 27 at the same venue.
