Most of us have made it a routine to pamper our skin every night before bed, but lack a regular morning skin care regimen.

This is mostly because most skin care regimens are time consuming and we mostly have very little time to prepare ourselves in the morning.

However, morning skin care routine is just as important as night time skin care which mostly entails cleansing and moisturizing.

Adopting a regular morning skin care routine will keep you looking fresh and vibrant all day.

Below is a simple manual you may want to consider adopting to ensure your skin receives the treatment it deserves every morning.

Start by wiping off dirt that built up at night.

Cleansing clears up makeup and excess oil off your skin and gives it a soft touch.

However, ensure the your cleanser of choice matches your skin type.

We have cleansers for dry skin, normal skin, oily skin and combination skin. A combination skin is neither dry nor oily.

Furthermore, ensure the cleanser has a soothing feel after use by choosing one with a low pH which won't irritate your skin.

For application, rub a pump of the cleanser in your palms and apply all over your skin in a circular motio.

Rinse your face with warm water but do not dry it.

Step 2: Moisturize

Moisturizing is important to ensure your skin stays hydrated all day.

Use either a water-based or a creamy moisturizing lotion depending on your skin type.

Moisturizing prevents your skin from drying out during the day either due to extreme heat or wind.

Take a small portion of moisturizing oil and smoothly pat it over your face and neck. Massage it into your skin till the moisturizer is absorbed.

Step 3: Use sunscreen

The UV rays from the sun are harmful to our skin and excessive exposure to them results in sunburns and darkened skin.

To prevent this, shield your skin from the rays by always wearing a sunscreen when going out.

Use a sunscreen lotion with at least an SPF (Sun Protection Factor) of 50.

Sunscreen will protect your skin from the harmful UV rays which lead to , wrinkling of skin, emergence of fine lines and dark spots.

Always remember, whatever you do to your face, extend to the neck.

On top of all this, remember to regularly hydrate by drinking at least two litres of water and using a face mask at least once a week.

You can use a charcoal mask or the sheet masks that match your skin type. These products are readily available in an accredited beauty shops.

Have a healthy blemish-free skin.
