Homemade chicken soup is packed with good nutrients and it is made by simmering chicken bones, which are loaded with gelatin and proteins which tend to boost collagen in our bodies.

Ingredients

  • Chicken Bones, Meat, and Skin Removed (optional)
  • 1 whole yellow Onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves Garlic, Peeled
  • 2 Bay Leaves
  • 1 teaspoon of Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric
  • 7 cups of Water

Preparation

Step 1

In a large sufuria, add chicken bones, onion, garlic, bay leaves, salt, pepper, turmeric, and water.

Step 2

Bring to a simmer and cover. Cook for 1 ½ hour.

Step 3

Remove chicken bones and strain broth through a sieve to remove remaining remnants.

Step 4

Taste broth and add additional salt as needed.

Step 5

If time allows, refrigerate broth until ready to use and skim the fat off the top once it solidifies.

You can use the fat to make other dishes.
