It’s Kenyan Hollywood actress, Lupita Nyong’o’s birthday.

Lupita was born 39 years ago today to Kenyan politician Anyang’ Nyong’o and a Mexican mother Esperanza Nyong’o.

Over the years, we have witnessed Lupita’s fame grow from her role as Patsey in the 2013 Historical drama, 12 Years A Slave to 2018 Marvel Action Black Panther as Nakia.

As of 2022, Lupita has won 15 awards including the Glamour Award for Woman of the Year, 2014 and NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Literary Work – Children's, 2020.

At the age of 14, Nyong'o made her professional acting debut as Juliet in Romeo and Juliet in a production by the Nairobi-based repertory company Phoenix Players.

She worked as a production assistant for several Hollywood films after her graduation from Hampshire College with a bachelor’s degree in Film and Theater Studies. She started in a Kenyan film, Shuga in 2009.

In addition to her acting, Lupita has been the talk of her fans for her stunning and unique fashion taste on the red carpets.

On Monday, she took upon herself to post her SAGA Award previous look as she wished her fellow actors good luck at the event.

“Best of luck to all my fellow actors nominated tonight.” she wrote on her Instagram page.
