Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetang’ula has criticised some media houses for taking sides, saying it’s unethical, unconstitutional and against the law.

Wetang’ula urged media houses to stick to the media laws and avoid being biased and give every politician equal coverage.

He singled out some media houses for giving Azimio la Umoja presidential candidate Raila Odinga more airtime, while snubbing Ruto’s key points in news bulletins.

“We gave them time to support whom they wanted but we are prepared to face them within the shortest time remaining,” the Ford Kenya leader said.

He, however, said some media houses had started changing their coverage style, adding that they should stick to the code of conduct.

Wetang'ula spoke at IEBC in Bungoma on Sunday, accompanying Senate Speaker Kenneth Lusaka on the campaign trail.

Wetang’ula also lauded Ruto for picking Tharaka Nithi Senator Kithure Kindiki as the national chief campaigner, saying he was equal to the task.

“I assure him of our support from the Western region to ensure the expectations are met,” he said.

The Ford Kenya leader also urged the IEBC to ensure they deliver credible results.

He asked the government to stop using national government administrators to influence local votes for Raila instead of giving them time and opportunity to practice their constitutional rights.

“I want to tell our opponents that a voter will only be allowed in the voting chamber alone,” he said.

Wetang’ula urged Bungoma residents to vote for Lusaka.

He said if Lusaka gets the seat, he will sign a charter born out of an economic forum at Amutala Stadium in Kimilili by DP Ruto.

This, he said, will provide economic, social and political relationships between Bungoma county and the national government.

He said the Kenya Kwanza will play a clean game without hard tackles, asking their opponents to accept defeat.

Present were Bungoma Ford Kenya chairperson Catherine Wambilianga, and Kiminini MP Chris Wamalwa. among other Kenya Kwanza aspirants.
