Khwisero MP Christopher Aseka has said he is ready to face and defeat his opponents.

The MP asked his supporters not to fall prey to unscrupulous politicians who buy their ID cards before the election to deny them a chance to vote.

Aseka, who is seeking a second term, spoke after being cleared by Khwisero returning officer Thomas Ng’etich to defend his seat on the ODM ticket on Monday.

He said his focus was on leading the people of Butere into the next government to realise development.

Aseka also said Azimio was headed for victory in Western in the August polls.

“We have covered the ground with our presidential flag bearer Raila Odinga during his weeklong tour of the region. We are ready to take on our opponents as Azimio brigade and beat them hands down. What Kenyans want is peaceful engagement during campaigns,” he said.

He said he is confident IEBC will deliver a free, fair and verifiable election.

The legislator said Kenya requires tested and proven leadership and Raila and his running mate Martha Karua are capable of delivering this.

Raila concluded a five-day extensive tour of the vote-rich region on Sunday. He toured Vihiga, Busia, Bungoma and Trans Nzoia counties.
