Orange Democratic Movement deputy leader Wycliffe Oparanya has said any party within Azimio la Umoja is free to field aspirants in Kakamega.
Oparanya spoke during a meeting with ODM aspirants at a Kakamega hotel on Thursday.
The meeting was convene to chart the way forward ahead of the party primaries.
“Right now we are talking about the issues of ODM. In Azimio we agreed that there will be no party zoning so any party is free to field a candidate of their choice in Kakamega. We are all in Azimio but every one of us has got their own house.” He said.
Oparanya said he was focused on the stability of the party by making sure it wins many seats.
The deputy party leader said through consensus the party had acquired 33 wards where aspirants have agreed and 27 wards were they are yet to agree.
The 27 wards have up to Friday midnight to submit their decision or be deemed as those who will go for party primaries on Tuesday.
“We have already agreed on the governor aspirant Fernandes Barasa. On the senate position we have 3 candidates Brian Lishenga, Simbauni Ndombi and Benjamin Andama who are still going through consensus ,” he said
“On members of parliament we have agreed on quite a number follows. We have Tindi Mwale (Butere), Benard Shinali(Ikolomani), Christopher Aseka(Khwisero), Nabii Nabwera(Lugari), Titus Khamala(Lurambi), Joab Buridi Manyasi(Malava), Peter Nabulindo(Matungu), Johnston Manya Naika(Mumias West),Emmanuel Wangwe(Navakholo)," he said.
He added that in Shinyalu had two aspirants, Anami Lisamulaa and Kizito Mugali, Likuyani has two and Mumias East has four who will have to either agree or face off in the nomination.
