A team has been assembled to investigate murder after the body of a teacher cum blogger was found hanging outside a shop in Kisii.

Police said for now they are investigating murder in the death of Duke Nyabaro whose body was found dangling at a kiosk front in Getembe Estate Kisii town by residents.

He was aged 35, his family said.

His relatives said he did not go back home on Saturday night as anticipated after a night out at an entertainment joint in Kisii.

The teacher's feet were seen to be touching the ground.

His family has also reported that they were not aware of the teacher having any disputes with anyone.

Officials said the deceased was a teacher.

Kisii county commander Charles Kasses said investigations are ongoing to confirm whether it was murder or suicide.

“We do not know the motive for now but a team is on the ground to gather more on the same,” he said.

The body was moved to the morgue awaiting an autopsy to be conducted.

He hailed from Suneka.

Mlango Kubwa

Meanwhile, police are investigating an incident in which the body of a 35-year-old woman was found in her house after suspected poisoning by a jiko in Mlango Kubwa, Nairobi.

The body of Ann Nasimiyu was found in her rented house along Biashara Street on April 7.

Her roommate told police she left Nasimiyu in the house and went to work and on coming back she realized the deceased was not responding to her calls and knocks on the door.

She pushed the door and found the lifeless body of her roommate lying on a mattress.

It was then established that the deceased was using a charcoal jiko while both the door and window were closed.

The body had no visible injuries and was moved to the City mortuary awaiting postmortem.
