A 64-year-old man slid and fell off a macadamia tree as he tried to harvest the product at a farm in Embu.
Police said Harun Kariuki had gone to harvest macadamia nuts when he slipped and fell from the tree.
He was alone at the time of the incident on Wednesday, police said.
His relatives said he wanted to pick the nuts to sell and that he had been doing so for a while.
The deceased had no visible injuries when police arrived at the scene to pick up the body to the mortuary for autopsy.
He is believed to have sustained internal injuries when he fell from almost 20 feet height to the ground.
The body was moved to Gakwegori Funeral Home awaiting postmortem.
Jamhuri
Meanwhile, the decomposed body of a woman was found in a house in Jamhuri, Nairobi.
Her friend who had failed to see her for days had come to visit when she realized she was not responding.
She said she knocked on the door severally with no response.
She alerted the neighbours who tried to knock but all in vain.
Police officers visited the scene and gained entry by breaking the door and found a decomposing body lying on a bed.
The body was moved to Chrimo Mortuary awaiting autopsy
The cause of the death is yet to be known.
Nakuru
Elsewhere in Nakuru’s Rhonda area, the body of a 30-year-old man was found in a salon where he was working as a guard.
Police said the owner of the premises told them the deceased was unwell when she left him on March 18.
She came the following day and realized the deceased was not responding forcing her to ask for assistance to open the door to access it.
It was then they discovered the body therein.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and other procedures.
Kericho
In Kericho, the body of Michael Adika aged 83 years was found lying on the sofa set in the living room of his two-bedroom rented house.
Police said the man had been unwell.
The cause of the death is yet to be known and the body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and probe.
