The High Court will on Tuesday deliver a ruling in a case where city advocate Shadrack Wambui wants the LSK elections scheduled for next week stopped.

Wambui wants the elections stopped after he was locked out from participating.

He is seeking the Nairobi Representative position in the Law Society of Kenya council in the elections scheduled for February 29.

Wambui argues that the LSK's decision to lock him out of the elections was unlawful and if the court doesn't intervene, then his case would be rendered useless.

In his papers, Shadrack has argued that the LSK's decision to lock him out of the elections was unlawful and if the court doesn't intervene, then his case would be rendered useless.

The LSK elections board locked Wambui out of the elections because one of the lawyers who nominated him practices in Mombasa and not Nairobi where he wants to represent.

But Wambui argues the reasoning of the board cannot stand as the lawyer who nominated him has an office at AGIP House in Nairobi.

Justice David Majanja will deliver the ruling.

Ex-MP Ongoro's Sh43 million graft case

Elsewhere, former Kasarani MP Elizabeth Ongoro will be back in court for the fixing of a hearing date in the Sh43 million graft case against her.

Magistrate Elizabeth Gichana will be fixing the date after taking over the case from senior principal magistrate Peter Ooko who was transferred.

Some 15 prosecution witnesses have so far testified and according to the prosecution, about 20 witnesses are remaining to give their testimony.

Ongoro was charged alongside her husband Ferdinand Masha Kenga and eight others.

They allegedly committed the offence between May 2008 and December 31, 2012, in Nairobi.

The funds were meant for the construction of Kasarani Girls High School.

The other suspects are James Dola, Silvan Onyango, Pamela Achola, William Ogutu of Nyangina Enterprises, Maurice Odhiambo of Komala Constructions, Jecinta Opondi and Accurate Construction and Engineering Works Limited.
