President William Ruto is today scheduled to chair a Kenya Kwanza parliamentary group meeting in Naivasha.

The retreat will bring together MPs and Senators from all affiliate parties within the Coalition.

The cabinet retreat is aimed at evaluating the performance of ministries and state offices.

Also to be discussed are the recommendations of the National Dialogue Committee (NADCO) Report.

It will be the second one after the one held last year in Nanyuki.

Principal secretaries will also attend the meeting.

"The retreat is expected to review the performance of all ministries and State offices and map out the priorities for 2024 that will be codified in the ministerial performance contracts.

This year’s retreat has been preceded by a roadshow under the stewardship of the Public Service ministry in conjunction with the Cabinet Office," reads a dispatch issued Friday.

The retreat holds significant importance as it lays the groundwork for the formulation of Ministerial Performance Contracts, which will guide the government's agenda and initiatives throughout the year 2024.

Another agenda of the meeting is Kenya's bid for the AU Commission chairperson seat.

Opposition leader Raila Odinga has declared his interest.

The leaders are set to take a common stand regarding this and announce plans in place to ensure the Azimio leader captures the seat.

National Assembly majority whip Sylvanus Osoro said in a press briefing Saturday that they are going to deploy all the resources to ensure he wins.

"As a coalition and as a party, specifically the ruling UDA, we have decided to put our foot down and support Raila," he said.

"...from the sky, on the land and in the seat, whatever avenue that we may be having we will put the resources to support the candidature of Raila Odinga," he added.
