Keiyo South MP Gideon Kimaiyo has come to the rescue of a student whose mother took two goats as school fees to secure her Form 1 admission.

The mother from a humble background had feared her daughter would miss the opportunity to join Queen of Peace Secondary School in Marakwet East.

On Wednesday, Kimaiyo announced that he will sponsor the girl for the four years in secondary school.

"Though the girl doesn't come from my constituency, I was touched by the story. Today, I walked to the principal and paid school fees. I will sponsor the girl for four years. Her mother should be given back her goats,” said.

A picture of the girl and her mother captured along with the two goats was shared widely on social media.

The image was captioned: "This mother took the only two remaining goats to school to secure admission for her daughter at Queen of Peace Secondary School in Marakwet East.”
