Detectives are investigating the murder of a 42-year-old man whose body was found burnt in a village in Busia county.

Police said Peter Okumu had gone missing on January 9 before his body was discovered four days later.

The body was partially burnt at his farm when it was discovered by the family

Police said the decomposed body had injuries on the head and the right hand mutilated at the wrist.

His genitals were also cut off and the mutilated parts were not found at the scene.

The motive of the murder is yet to be known, police said as they moved the body to Busia County referral hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.

In Ekisumu village, Nambale a man was stabbed to death in an altercation over a missing mobile phone.

Police said they are holding suspects over the murder incident of one Godfrey Makokha.

The probe into the incident is ongoing.

And police in Nzau, Makueni are investigating the sudden death of a man at a lodge.

The body of the man was found at Safari Lodge house within Emali township.

Police established that the unidentified male adult aged about 40 collapsed and died.

The body was found lying outside the washrooms situated inside the buildings of the said lodge.

The cause of the death is yet to be known.

In Jomvu, Mombasa, a 59-year-old man collapsed and died at a car wash area.

Patrick Mutuku collapsed and died while on duty. The cause of the death is yet to be determined.

The bodies were moved to the mortuaries pending autopsy.
