NTSA to shut down TIMS portal to limit transactions on services

The National Transport and Safety Authority has said the shut down of the Transport Integrated Management System (TIMS) portal will limit transactions on all NTSA services.

In a public announcement on Friday, they said as a follow up to the public notice on December 13 on migration of all NTSA services to the e-citizen platform, the shut down will be on December 29 to January 1.

"During this period, all NTSA online service access will be integrated with E-citizen platform single sign on, in preparation for the Go Live on Tuesday January 2," the notice read in part.

NTSA therefore noted that from Tuesday, only E-citizen login credentials; username and password shall be used to access the services.

They said they are committed to delivering quality services to the public during this transition period.

"For enquiries, the authority may be reached through [email protected] by visiting the nearest NTSA office or Huduma care desk," they noted.

On December 13, NTSA advised motorists to promptly verify their e-Citizen credentials.

This is was it as it geared up to shut down the Transport Integrated Management System portal from Friday, December 29, 2023, at midnight, until Monday, January 1, 2024.

During this period, the Authority in a notice announced it would restrict transactions for all NTSA services.

Subsequently, access to all NTSA online services were to be consolidated on the e-Citizen platform.

From Tuesday, January 2, 2024, only E-Citizen Login credentials (Username and Password) shall be used to access NTSA services.

NTSA director general George Njao urged the public to ensure their e-Citizen credentials are up to date to avoid any service disruptions.

"All clients with pending transactions on the TIMS platform are required to complete their applications by Friday, December 15, 2023, to avoid any inconveniences," he said.

"To ensure a seamless transition, NTSA urges all clients, including motor vehicle owners, financial institutions, insurance companies, motor/motorcycle dealers, corporate/companies, Embassies, Missions, Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), among other entities, to validate their e-Citizen accounts," NTSA emphasized.
