Junior Secondary School intern teachers demos

Junior Secondary School intern teachers are set to hold a peaceful demonstration at the KUPPET offices along Mombasa Road.

They will then proceed to the Teachers Service Commission offices in Upper Hill to present their petition.

The teachers want to be given permanent and pensionable terms after they complete their one-year internship.

World AIDS Day

Kenyans will today join the World in observing World AIDS Day

Statistics show that 1.37 Kenyans are currently living the HIV, with 57 percent of the number in 10 counties.

Some 67, 869 of the number are said to be children between the age of 0-14 years.

HIV prevalence stands at 3.7 per cent (aged 15 to 49 years) with the rate being higher among women at 5.3 per cent than among men which is 2.6 per cent.

This year's theme is 'Let communities lead'.

Health Cabinet Secretary Susan Nakhumicha will preside over the event at Kinoru Stadium in Meru.

Hearing of a case on magistrates' and judges' elections proceeds

A case in which a Magistrate has moved to court seeking to stop the Kenya Magistrates and Judges Association (KMJA) from conducting its presidential elections slated for December 16 proceeds is set to proceed today.
