Former UDA vice chairman Kipruto Arap Kirwa has weighed in on Azimio Leader Raila Odinga's visit to State House during dinner on Tuesday night.

Raila was among the high-profile leaders who attended the State banquet organised in honour of King Charles III and Queen Camilla's visit.

During an interview with K24 on Wednesday, Kiiru said there was nothing wrong with Raila going there as the Statehouse does not belong exclusively to the President.

"The Statehouse belongs to all Kenyans since it is the property of the state, it is not the president's home," he said.

"The President is a temporary custodian, a temporary tenant of the Statehouse because he temporarily holds the responsibility of leadership in Kenya," he said.

The ODM leader was accompanied by National Assembly minority leader Opiyo Wandayi.

At State House, Raila was seen engaging various leaders including  Cabinet Secretaries and politicians across the political divide.

Among those who were seen engaging the ODM leader are CS Alfred Mutua, UDA SG Cleophas Malala and President William Ruto's security Advisor Monica Juma.

This is the first time Raila is seen at State House after the 2022 elections which he lost to Ruto.

The King and Queen Camilla arrived in Kenya on Monday night for a four-day state visit to the country.

Their Majesties' visit is at the invitation of President Ruto and comes as Kenya prepares to celebrate 60 years of independence.

The visit is the first official visit by Their Majesties to an African nation.
