NARC Kenya Leader Martha Karua has dismissed a purported joint statement by Kenya Kwanza and Azimio La Umoja Coalitions listing key issues to be addressed in talks set to be steared by Nigeria's Former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

The statement shared by Ichung'wah indicated that both coalitions had agreed on five major issues that the talks will deliberate on.

However, on the statement, the signature of Minority leader Opiyo Wandayi was conspicuously missing raising eyebrows whether both parties were involved in its making as claimed.

In apparent confirmation that the issues were not agreed upon by both Kenya Kwanza and Azimio, Karua said the absence of Opiyo wandayi's signature tells it all that the issues were of the Kenya Kwanza side only.

She maintained that Azimio's key agendas remain in place.

"Where do you see Azimio’s signature ?" Karua posed.

"A wish list by Kenya Kwanza. Azimio Kenya issues remain the same with cost of living being no one priority," Karua said.

In the purported joint statement on Saturday, the two sides said they have agreed to form a ten-member committee to steer the talks, five from each side.

They termed it a collective determination to resolve their differences amicably for the benefit of Kenyans.

"The committee shall be seized with the following five issues; reconstitution of IEBC; implementation of two thirds gender rule, entrenchment of constituency development fund, establishment and entrenchment of the Office of the Leader of the Opposition and embedment of the office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary."

The committee will include four members from outside Parliament, two from each side, leaders of the Majority and Minority from the National Assembly and four additional Members of Parliament -two from each side.
