Political Analyst Peter Kagwanja has said the country is on edge.

Kagwanja said Kenya has never reached the kind of tipping point that it is at now.

"Everyone knows now that Kenya is on edge. Already we have lost lives in these kinds of skirmishes," Kagwanja said.

He said it is also clear that Kenyans are crying for a peaceful way out of the current situation the country is facing.

"Even as we talk about the cost of living and other issues, I think Kenyans want peace. They are crying for peace," he added.

He spoke on Wednesday during an interview with KTN.

Kagwanja said there is no other alternative to the situation Kenya is in other than talks.

In his opinion, Kenyans do not understand the global position they hold.

"We are a global public good. We have no right to get into anarchy in any form because it is not about us. It is about Kenyan citizens, it is about our neighbours. It is about the stability of the world," Kagwanja said.

He described Kenya as one of the four pillars of the African continent.

Kagwanja said Kenya is a pivotal state with other countries like South Africa.

This comes as Kenyans start the first day of the planned three-day anti-government demos.

The demos, being led by Azimio Chef Raila Odinga are expected to run from Wednesday to Friday.
