Tetu Member of Parliament Geoffrey Wandeto has called upon Opposition leader Raila Odinga to call off demonstrations.

Speaking on Tuesday, Wandeto said that the only solution to the current situation Kenyans are facing lies with the opposition leader.

“Raila should call off tomorrow's riots. This whole situation is in his hands,” Wandeto said.

He further added that Raila should reach out to President William Ruto in whichever way, and have a peaceful dialogue on how to address the cost of living.

“Raila has Ruto's phone number, let him call the President. If he doesn't pick, let him send a WhatsApp message,” the MP said on Citizen TV.

Raila Odinga-led Azimio la Umoja coalition has announced three days of demonstrations that will start on Wednesday this week.

Azimio said due to massive requests from all sectors, peaceful protests will be held on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

This, they said, would go on whether the government issues a permit or not.

President William Ruto has vowed that the government will do everything possible to stop more violent demonstrations that have so far left scores dead and property worth millions of shillings damaged.

"Raila Odinga, I won't allow you to seek power on the back of the blood of Kenyans. I will stop you," he said.
